You can reach St.Petersburg

   By plane:

   via St.Petersburg International Airport ("Pulkovo-II"), St. Petersburg is directly connected to most of the European capitals.
   via St. Petersburg Domestic Airport ("Pulkovo-I"), St. Petersburg is 50 minutes flight from Moscow. In Moscow you should get to the domestic airport "Sheremet'evo-I", located within a few miles from the Internationl Airport "Sheremet'evo-II".

   By train:

St. Petersburg is 8 hours from Moscow by train from the railway station "Leningradskiy Vokzal" (a night train is the most comfortable choice). In Moscow you can reach the railway station "Leningradskiy Vokzal" by subway (get off at "Komsomolskaya" stop).

You can reach the "Dom Uchenykh" (House of Scientists)

   From the railway station "Moskovskiy Vokzal": Take the subway ("Plostchad Vosstaniya"), line 3, direction "Primorskaya", get off at "Nevskiy Prospect".
   From the railway station "Varshavskiy Vokzal": Take the subway ("Baltiyskaya"), line 1, direction "Lesnaya", get off at "Technologicheskiy Institut", then take line 3, direction "Primorskaya", get off at "Nevskiy Prospect".
   From the International Airport ("Pulkovo-II"): Take the bus #13 or the shuttle up to the "Moskovskaya" subway station. Then take the subway, line 2, direction "Prospekt Prosvestcheniya" and get off at "Gostiny Dvor".
   From the Domestic Airport ("Pulkovo-I"): Take the bus #39 or the shuttle up to the "Moskovskaya" subway station. Then take the subway, line 2, direction "Prospekt Prosvestcheniya" and get off at "Gostiny Dvor".

The Russian legislation does not impose restrictions as to the amount of foreign currency brought in. Currency exchange services are offered in any bank and in most hotels. The most popular currencies are US dollar, Deutsche mark (DM) and Finnish mark (FM). Official exchange rates on June 20 are: 1 US$ = 28.24 roubles, 1 DM = 13.96  roubles, 1 FM = 4.59 roubles. Only few banks accept credit cards and traveler checks; and the commission rates are rather high. Therefore cash is still preferable way of payment in Russia.

The climate in St. Petersburg is moderate and humid. In July it is warm with occasional rainfalls, the temperature ranging from 20^o to 25^oC.

The participants are invited to pick up their conference bag at the registration desk. The registration desk will be open for registration matters and other information during the following hours:

Language:
English will be the official language. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Proceedings:
Proceedings of the Conference will be distributed to the participants at the registration desk.

Registration:
On-site registration can be made at the Registration desk.

Accommodation:
Most COC2000 participants will stay in the Hotel "St. Petersburg". Transportation from the Hotel "St.Petersburg" to the Conference site will be provided by shuttle bus. Luxury hotels "Europe" and "Astoria" are within walking distance from the conference venue.

Lunches:
Lunch tickets will be available at the registration desk. There are also a lot of restaurants, coffee shops and snack bars within walking distance from the "Dom Uchenykh". Ask site map at the registration desk.

Conference Banquet:
The Conference Banquet will take place on Friday 7, July. Restricted amount of banquet tickets will be available at the registration desk.

Book exhibition:
Scientific books of Birkhauser, World Scientific and other publishers will be exposed in the foyer of White Hall.

Internet Connection:
Internet connection will be provided at the conference venue during lunch time and after conference hours.
